How to calculate the number of excavators and transport vehicles for earthwork projects?

Release time: 2020-09-11 11:39:12 Source: Bulldozer

The engineering operation scenes we often see are: excavators excavate earth, and muck trucks transport muck. So how should we complete the work task within the prescribed time according to the amount of work, and reasonably configure the excavator and muck truck? Let me share my experience with you:

How to calculate the number of excavators and transport vehicles for earthwork projects?

1: Reasonable choice of excavator

In earthwork engineering, excavators are very important mechanical equipment. When choosing an excavator, the following principles should be observed:

(1) The project schedule and quantity should be compatible with the number of excavators and bucket capacity.

(2) Engineering characteristics and soil conditions should be compatible with the structure type of the excavator.

(3) The excavator should have high cost performance, comfort and reliability. The project schedule and quantity are the primary decisive factors that determine the capacity of the excavator bucket. Different bucket capacities should be selected for different engineering quantities, so as to help reduce construction costs.

2: Choice of the number and capacity of dump trucks

The economic benefits and productivity of earthwork engineering are determined to be one of the rational factors of dump truck configuration. The number and load capacity of dump trucks should meet the requirements of engineering distance and excavator productivity. The load capacity of dump trucks has a certain impact on construction costs and productivity of excavation and transportation.

When the bucket capacity is a fixed value, there is an optimal load capacity, which corresponds to the lowest unit operating cost. The load capacity corresponding to the minimum unit cost is proportional to the bucket capacity. The larger the bucket capacity and haul distance, the larger the load weight corresponding to the minimum unit cost. After determining the bucket capacity and transportation distance, the load capacity of the dump truck should be reasonably determined.
