Analysis of the cause of engine cooling water internal leakage

Release time: 2020-07-14 11:18:59 Source: Bulldozer

The cooling water consumption of the engine is very fast, and no exposure is found after inspection. There are two main reasons for analysis

1: Cooling water flows into the oil pan, 2: Converted into water vapor and discharged.

There are three main reasons for the release of water vapor into the atmosphere

1: There are very small cracks around the combustion chamber, the cylinder gasket is partially damaged near the cylinder liner, the cylinder head bolts are not tightened in accordance with the prescribed order and torque, and the cylinder head is disassembled in a warm state to cause warpage and deformation, and the cylinder head gasket cannot be compressed. Cracks will occur. When the engine is working, the cooling water is sucked back into the cylinder under the action of the downward suction of the piston, and then becomes a gas through the action of high temperature pressure, and then discharged into the atmosphere along with the exhaust gas. Therefore, a large amount of cooling water will be consumed after the engine works for a period of time. .

Failures caused by such causes mostly occur after engine maintenance. For this reason, when tightening the cylinder head bolts, they should be symmetrical from the middle to both sides, and they should be screwed to the specified torque several times in a symmetrical manner. The quality of the cylinder gasket should be even and thin, without deformation, elasticity Good, the crimping of each hole is tight and no cracks, the flatness error of the cylinder head joint surface should be greater than 0.20mm, after the new machine or the machine after overhaul, the cylinder head bolts should be re-checked and tightened again.

2: The cylinder head is cracked. If the cooling water is added after starting, the high temperature cylinder head will cool down sharply and cause stress, and cracks will occur. If the cracks occur at the inlet and the nose bridge of the exhaust valve seat, the engine will work. After a period of time, if the temperature of the machine is too high and the water pressure increases, the cracks at the cracks will increase, so the cooling water will leak out of the cracks and be directly discharged to the atmosphere along the exhaust pipe.

3: "Air resistance" occurs in the cooling system. At this time, the water vapor in the cooling system will enter the gas distribution mechanism through the crack and be discharged from the exhaust pipe along with the exhaust gas.

Whether there are cracks in the cylinder head can be checked by observation method, kerosene penetration method and compressed air leakage method. When the above failure occurs, a small amount of water droplets will be discharged from the exhaust pipe when the machine is started, and the exhaust pipe can be seen to be discharged White smoke.
