What is the reason for the insufficient power of the diesel engine of the Carter D10R bulldozer?

Release time: 2020-07-20 11:20:35 Source: Bulldozer

A Carter D10R bulldozer has insufficient power during operation and can only push half a shovel of earth. Preliminary analysis based on past experience suggests that the lack of power of the bulldozer diesel engine may have the following 4 reasons:

1: The air filter is clogged, causing insufficient air intake.

2: Individual injectors are poorly atomized, causing the fuel to not burn completely.

3: Injection: The injection actuation pressure is too low, resulting in low fuel injection from the injector.

4: The turbocharger is damaged and the turbocharger pressure is too low. The engineer immediately checked.

First, check that the air filter is not clogged. Second, use the diesel engine electronic technician (ET) to do the cylinder cut-off test, and each cylinder works normally. Third, check the historical fault codes stored in the electronic technician (ET) and delete the existing fault codes. Then put the bulldozer into gear III and conduct a bulldozing test with a full shovel. As a result, the diesel engine stalls. At this time, the electronic technician (ET) detects that the turbocharger pressure is too low (normal value is 60-90kpa). Finally, the turbocharger outlet pressure sensor was replaced, and the power of the bulldozer returned to normal.

What is the reason for the insufficient power of the diesel engine of the Carter D10R bulldozer?

Further inspection and analysis showed that after the turbocharger outlet pressure sensor was damaged, the data received by the diesel engine controller (ECM) was inaccurate, and the controller (ECM) sent the control signal to the injector to control the fuel injection volume to decrease (injection actuation). Pressure reduction), resulting in insufficient power of the diesel engine. The output error signal of the pressure sensor at the outlet of the turbocharger did not reach the level of failure alarm, so the diesel engine could not start.
