1: Special fault phenomenon of high oil temperature of torque converter:


The oil temperature of the torque converter started to rise all the time. The maintenance personnel checked the possible cause of the high temperature, but failed to eliminate the fault.


Failure analysis:


After checking and eliminating other reasons, the heat generated by the internal leakage of the pressure overflow should be considered. The pressure overflow is mainly caused by the control valve, the pressure regulating valve being too small, or the cracks of the parts. According to the actual pressure, the higher the pressure, the greater the heat generated by the overflow.


Troubleshooting method:


Check the valve plate through which the pressure pipeline passes, focusing on the sealing surface of the O-ring.


 2: Torque converter oil leakage failure phenomenon:


Oil leaks at the joint between the torque converter housing and the engine motor or at the shaft end.


 Failure analysis:


①: The filter element of the torque converter is blocked, causing the oil in the torque converter housing to not flow back to the rear axle box, the oil pressure in the housing is too high, and the oil leaks from the motor or shaft end.


②: The oil return of the oil return pump is reduced. The reason is that the axial and radial clearances between the driving gear of the pump and the pump body are too large, which results in poor oil return.


③: The oil seal of the turbine output shaft is worn out, causing the working fluid to leak.

Troubleshooting method:


The corresponding treatment methods for the above failures are: cleaning or replacing the filter element; replacing the oil return pump; replacing the oil seal.
