  Excavator hydraulic cylinders are complex in structure and are commonly used in field operations. Once a cylinder failure occurs, it is difficult to troubleshoot. In fact, the piston rod is rusted or the coating is peeled off, the piston rod is black, and the non-coating surface bumps of the hydraulic cylinder may cause the hydraulic cylinder to leak.   hydraulic cylinder appearance defect refers to irreversible defects in the appearance of the hydraulic cylinder, which affect the appearance or performance of the product. The appearance defects mainly include: the piston rod is rusted or the coating is peeled off, the piston rod is blackened and the non-matching surface of the hydraulic cylinder bumps.


  The piston rod is corroded or the coating is peeled off. The main reason is the unreasonable process parameters of the piston rod coating during the processing or the use environment exceeds the design allowance (such as offshore environment or strong corrosion environment). Solution: Replace the piston rod/the whole cylinder, adjust the process parameters; use environmental problems, you need to choose a coating with stronger corrosion resistance according to the actual working conditions.


  The black piston rod is mainly due to poor heat dissipation of the main engine, replacement of inferior hydraulic oil or replacement of inferior seals. The solution:


  1: Clean the radiator frequently, and check the oil tank cooling system to see if there is any blockage, out of control, etc., to ensure the heat dissipation effect;


  2: It is recommended to choose imported seals or domestic large-brand seal brands and materials suitable for host operating conditions;


  3: Be sure to use genuine hydraulic oil of the same brand model. The blackening of the rod body is generally caused by high hydraulic oil temperature and mixed use of hydraulic oil.


  In addition: the non-coating surface bumping of the hydraulic cylinder is mainly caused by the hard objects such as stones bumping the non-coating surface during the working process. The surface can be polished and painted without affecting the use.
